LA Child Support Services Division Strengthens Community Partnerships

Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department (CSSD) kicked off CSAM on August 4th with a well-attended child support workshop for community-based organizations to strengthen the partnerships and increase cooperation that can benefit participants in the child support program.

The event was attended by 50 individuals representing agencies and organizations working with families and children from the South Bay and Los Angeles County, including L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services and Community and Senior Services, as well as community organizations; PACE Headstart, Volunteers of America, Girls Club of Los Angeles, El Nido Centers, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services.

Presentations were handled by LA CSSD Outreach Services, CSSD Division staff and managers from CSSD’s nearby Torrance Division.

In addition, on Tuesday, August 16th, LA CSSD was joined by State DCSS Director Alisha Griffin and State DCSS Regional Administrator George Chance at the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting where the LA Supervisors officially proclaimed August as "Child Support Awareness Month." A presentation was given to the Supervisors by LA CSSD Director, Steven Golightly.
